We sometimes look for other people to encourage us. Why do you think this can be dangerous? Or do you think that?
Welcome to my blog. I'm Dr. Marita Kinney, Msc.D. As a young professional woman, I realized the need for a transparent blog which would encourage and strengthen the average woman…The Mom, The Wife, The Entrepreneur, The Single Woman, The Woman that wears more than one hat, and feels as if no one understands her daily struggle to become awesome. This blog is for the woman who refuses to give up on herself.
I don't think that anything is wrong to receive encouragement from anyone. Even the man who has made the most mistakes can inspire someone not to be like him.

ReplyDeleteI don't think that its a good idea to walk around LOOKING for people to encourage you. Because if you are waiting on OTHERS, you may be waiting for awhile. I say.....Learn To Encourage Yourself. But I do agree with you Q, its okay to receive encouragement from others..I just do think we should depend on it being given, but pray that we can be encouraged even if no one is there to provide it.
ReplyDeleteIt depends on who is encouraging them. Everyone is inspired by someone or something. Just like when people feel like all is lost and they can't go on something or someone can encourage them to pick up the pieces and keep going.... I've seen it before!
ReplyDeleteSometimes its hard for people to see the potential they have within themselves. Others might see it and may be good at fueling their fire. So, yes, we shouldn't "look" for it, but we should "welcome" it when it comes, especially IF we are one of those who cannot see the potential within.

ReplyDeleteThe only time encouragement by others is dangerous is when that encouragement is not based on what is true. Sometimes well-meaning people can encourage us with wrong ideas. Sometimes they may support us in our own wrong ideas.

understood is encouragement that can be trusted. We definitely need each other, but when our hearts are overwhelmed, we should trust those that lead us back to the ROCK that is higher than us all.( Read Psalm 61:2). God bless.
